description:
Color picture postcard. Front: "Governor Thomas Bibb Home." Back: "Governor Thomas Bibb Home, Belle Mina, Ala. (near Mooresville) Thomas Bibb was Alabama's second governor, brother to the first, Wm. Wyatt Bibb. You can see the six great Doric columns which are said to be made each from a poplar log, surrounded with specially designed brick and plastered. Another unusual feature of the house is a wooden mantel that is reeded, fluted, and beaded, making it, no doubt, the most beautiful wooden mantel used in early Alabama mansion building."
